"Writing My Journey to STYLETAINMENT, A Life Stitched Together has been a healing for me in many ways. What I now see is the “ONE” was an instrument, to assist in writing the music to my songs, the words to my stories, the scripts to my plays, and the inspiration, drive and determination to move my life forward. The “ONE” was chosen to point me in the direction of my soul’s journey.
The fire still burns but it’s a different kind of fire. The LOVE still lives inside of me, but my eyes are wide open and everything is crystal clear. When I look out that window I see a beautiful unscarred soul looking back; when I look out that window I see a woman standing in happiness and joy; when I look out that window I see the spirits of my Mother, my Grandma Jane, Mr. Shorty and my Godmother looking back smiling and saying, “All is well, you did good …you’re doing good, girl!” And that’s ohhh such sweet music to my soul".
The Second Edition of My Journey To STYLETAINMENT, A Life Stitched Together, is a beautiful table top book, that poetically tells a story to introduce "The Show", scene by scene. Sharing just enough to stir-up your curiosity. Along with meeting the cast through this breath-taking book you will also travel "Red Carpet" style to see some of the places we have been and people we have met along the way.
Bringing STYLETAINMENT to the stage was one of the most exciting, exhilarating and spiritual production I have created to date. Upon creating every garment. Before picking up a needle to sew and create every garment, I would be certain I was in a peaceful and loving place.
Premiering the show in 2012 touched me in the most gratifying ways. I received it, as a great reward from God, for surviving breast cancer. He gave me another opportunity to share my gifts with the world. As the audience watched the show for the first time, I felt the love exuding all over the room. It was in that moment I understood the statement, “everything is energy” so much clearer than ever. The peace and loving energy that I put into each stitch vibrated into our audience that day and every show since.
I am STYLETAINMENT and STYLETAINMENT is ME.
Next to my children, this is my greatest LEGACY!!!!

Do you remember your 9-year-old childhood DREAMS? Most of us don’t. This is the story of an exceptionally, talented, creative, tenacious young girl that never forgot or gave up on her 9-year-old DREAMS.
We’re all born for certain destinies and purposes in life and many of us fight against those destinies and search for all the things we “think” we should do or want to be.
But Missouri is one of the lucky ones because she has known her destiny all of her life. She knew early on what to embrace and what to dismiss in order to reach her dreams, her goals, her passions and her purpose. But for so long, life just kept throwing obstacles in her path.
At times, many of those obstacles seemed insurmountable but the visions of her 9-year-old self, watching her mother sew, kept her on her path.
While at the knee of her mother, she collected scraps of fabric and built a make shift fashion runway, all the while making a commitment to someday become a major force in the fashion world.
That vision, that promise and that commitment became central to her being. The one thread that had been consistent in her life was still with her. That 9-year-old vision was clearer and stronger than ever.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, to Queen Ada Ann Watson Hood, Missouri is the third youngest of seven siblings. She is the mother of four wonderful children who are the wind beneath her wings, and a very proud grandmother and great grandmother, aka, Nana. Missouri considers herself blessed to have so many good friends that love, appreciate, and believe in her.
Being raised in the inner cities was challenging but life's lessons taught her well. She has used the good and bad to fuel her life forward and set examples for others to follow.
"Missouri's Children are the wind beneath her wings!"
Left to right: Karim, her middle son, Missouri, Kyra, her daughter, Shareef, her youngest son & Sitting: Raymond, her oldest son.

The Barbie Doll, that propelled
her into Action!
The Little Girl that never
At the age of 9, Missouri designed a full collection for her Barbie Doll using her mother’s fabric remnants. She built a cardboard runway and placed it on the dining room table. She put on her Mother's favorite music, which was gospel and invited her to see the fashion show. As Missouri strutted her Barbie Doll down the runway, she was beaming with excitement. After the show, she told her mother when she grew up she was going to do a BIG SHOW!!!
Life was good, life was grand and then things happened that she did not understand.
